This picture says so much about the situation in the Pihlippines. The power and telephone lines are broken, making it so hard to contact the area because calling doesn't work and people have no electricity. Thus, it is also difficult to contact the people living in this area. On the right top, you can see a tree leaning, throughout the whole concerning area trees, big poles holding the powerlines, ships, cars, etc. are blocking of ways or even keeping people away from the daylight and causing them to die because no one can find them. All these elements can be found in this picture.

This place, what used to be a street with houses along its sides, has now completely turned into a big mess of wood, cardboard, plastic, trees, cars and people running around.

Also this picture is a part of the city of Tacloban taken from the air. This picture shows the damage done along the riverside, but also a bit more inland. Because of the strong winds, the river has flooded causing together for leaving a mess behind.

In the back ground you can see water and that's of course where the boat coms from. The boat hit the land and devastated houses and everything that once stood there. Now the boat is there, you can see some people use the boat as an extra wall to their unstable and unsafe houses. These houses mainly consists of the leftovers of the buildings that were once there.
